Tagged - Ten Random Things That Make Me Feel Happy

Tagged by Indyana, and The Queen of the Dark Asylum. (my 1st tagging too:) ) so here are 10 entities, concepts, ideas, situations which are characterized by or indicative of pleasure, contentment, or joy that occur without definite aim, reason, or pattern which are also listed without definite aim, reason, or pattern. :)

1.Music, Listening & Playing:

Depends on my mood, but it varies from Enya's heavenly sounds and Sarah McLaughlin's sweet voice to Annie Lennox, Bob Dylan, Jim Reeves to Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Bear McCreary and U2. My finger tappings on the ivories are nothing to write home about but whatever it is it always makes me feel good.

Did I mention I sing in the shower?

2.Gaming:
I havent thoroughly explored this on the blog yet, but Im a passable passionate player of the computer game genre. Theres nothing quite so fun as losing that last cop by a milli-second or pwning that last terrorist, going after that alien or even leveling the enemy bases

Since its not entirely unrelated i'll add "When a piece of code I've typed for hours goes right". Oh man, thats just the most awesome whoop-dee-doo joy+relief combo ever. Mile wide grins occur.

3."Singin in the Rain..." :
Well not singing, since I cant sing (But i couldnt resist dropping the name of a good musical. I love Gene Kelly's scene in that.) but walking in the rain with a breeze in your face is just a soggy step away from heaven... you know whats perfect listening at those times? - "Rain" by Madonna, perfect lyrics too.

4.Cartoons:
Sorry Indyana, how can I NOT say cartoons. I've watched them for 20+ years. Everything from Looney Tunes to Voltron and Bucky O'Hare to Avatar I've watched, loved and adored, and at times wished to be like... :) LOL I should add TV+ movies here too. Chief among them Battlestar Galactica, Friends and A Walk to Remember

5.Being Remembered:
I always try and think of everybody. Its who I am, and its not always been good for me, getting pushed around and taken for granted. So it really makes my day when someone makes a small gesture thats just enough to say that I havent turned invisible and vanished off the face of the earth.

6.Solitude:
A quiet evening, sitting in the dark, maybe some Enya or smooth jazz on the speakers... imagining you're alone... on a beach somewhere or atop a mountain...., or some meditating... its refreshing to just be by yourself when the worlds gone mad around you..

7.Understanding:
Rarely found, so its like finding the Holy Grail when you to meet it. How many do you know that REALLY understand you? Isnt it the most glorious happiness when you meet someone who does understand you?

8.Books:
Bookworm. Classics, comics, romance, scifi, etc. No scruples whatsoever, i'll read anything @ least once. :) Though right now im stuck with reruns of Pride & Prejudice+Great Expectations. :P

9.Friends:
Who else would you be yourself with so you can laugh your cares away or find a shoulder to lean on?

10. Satisfying my sweet tooth:
Self explanatory really. Chocolate is right up there in the list. Its not exactly a sweet tooth since pastries and select fruits are stuff I like too along with cakes and ice cream. Ice Cream addict I am. My fave cake is the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte: Black Forest cake

I tag: Cerno, Sheena, Parthi, Azrael, Theena,

Edit (15 May / Approx. 7 PM) -

Since Sach is calling first dibs on Theena :P lol, and since (I'm ashamed to say, and apologise for) I forgot, I'm gonna tag a few more people here. My Sinhala fonts are on the fritz or Id type this in Sinhala, but Id like to tag Malinthe, Bo, Nidahas Adahas, Samanalee, Anandawardhana. Nice to know about our friends who type in the other language no? :) Guys write it up in any language you want, spice it up.

Oh and I'm gonna take a leaf out of Sach's book and link to the root of all this nonsense :) - here

Most of the things on your list would apply to me too he he :D

"When a piece of code I've typed for hours goes right"

That was really nice! And point 5 was very like myself!I was like that, but, child, do try and toughen up, because life can be painful, so don't wait for things to come along till you get tough!

And so do you play runescape(or gunbound) too!

I love cartoons too! My favourite is Tom and Jerry :). I think I'm with you on all of those apart from 2.... :$

@Azrael: Glad to know there's a kindred spirit out there :D

@sach: Ok since you're the senior blogger I'll let you have your poet. lol :) The Edit i did (May 15, 7PM)gives reasons.

*hi5* on Looney Tunes. Who's your fave? i could never decide.

@indyana: Wow, I'm so impressed. A mom thats wise to the gaming world. Which kid?

Thats good advice Indyana, I'll do my best to take a daily dose of it :)

@Scrump: Well wasnt expecting you to like #2, but Im glad you're another kindred spirit :)

Hey bro what is the tagging thingy? Haven't seen it before, pls enlighten me if it isn't any trouble ;)

Dili said...

@Malinthe: Its simple really. One blogger writes up an article about something. Usually its a list of something. That person "tags" some other bloggers. Then those bloggers have to type up the same article in their view/perspective and tag other bloggers that havent been tagged. it goes on and on and on... Breeds understanding and friendship :)

Here the 1st one was by Rhythmic Diaspora who tagged Indyana who tagged me, who tagged you :) If you follow the links you'll get a idea of whats happening.

@dili: cool thanks for the info man! :) i'll tag some shortly :D

GAMING!.. I totally understand the feeling that comes with games. The stress.. the tension! heheh.. I could go on..
Since of late the games have gotten a little to complex for my comp.
sigh.... can't wait till i have a super computer of sorts to get back into the zone.
Do tell though what does the gamer in you like?

sach said...

aiyo dili I was just kidding that's why i said ignore that :)

Indyana said...

You mean which kid doesn't play..I think I spend half my energy trying to wean them off gthese games...and they insist on me getting my own account and playing with them...goodness!

Meese said...

Indyana, you should try EA games Fifa or Rubgy with the kids i'm sure they'll love that :p

Vindi said...

7) Understanding- is an awesome example of a happy moment! Particularly when you find people who share weird quirks with you :)Always makes me laugh.

Dili said...

@Meese: Well I've linked some I like on the post. But I like just about anything good. These days its mostly Trackmania and Call of Duty 4. What are you into?

@Sach:
අයියෝ ඕවා නම් මොනාද මෙයා... මං ගණං ගත්තෙ නෑ, ඔයා ගණං ගන්නත් එපා හොදේ? :) he hee. Thing is I'm slow on the uptake for some things :P :)

@indyana: Ok im torn here. As a responsible (for the sake of argument @ least :) ) person i say they shouldnt get addicted, but the kid in me wants you to let them be. But you joining up is a great idea. Ok lets see if I can show you that games arent all about killing things.

@vindi: :) glad you think so too.Any weird quirks of yours I should inquire about? :) lol

Dili, I'd say games I like would range from - age of empires, sim city (NOT sims). I loved the rainbow six series... i think i've played all upto the vegas one. I didn't like ghost recon.
Splinter cell, unfortunately my comp doesn't support the new ones.
I love RTS games.. good ones anyway.
Played NFS, but not most wanted.
I played the first GTA remember the one with the helicopter cam following the little guy? hehe :) then played everything else except san andreas.
I loved MAX PAYNE 2.
been playing Brian Lara Cricket at a friends recently. I dunno man.. games.. I love serious stuff i guess.
Oh! Farcry.. crysis doesn't work.. heard good things though.. I think Crytek engines are brilliant. Played a bit of gears of war. Played a lot of unreal 2004, 2007 seems a little too hard and doesn't work on my comp. surprise!
I could go on but i'm going to shut up now.. this is one of my favourite subjects :)
