A tired heart feels
the weight of its chain mail suit.
A bond with darkness.
Eyes of fiery cold
sees bloody streaks on new snow.
A bond with darkness.
Memories past,
remembering of you.
A bond with darkness.
Murder in the blood
awakes demons inside.
A bond with darkness.
Indieink writing challenge again. I really need to write something that's not a challenge one of these days. :) Anyway, my prompt this time was from the awesome myplaidpants, with whom I've had a very nice challenge exchange before as well. My challenge was "a bond with darkness". First thing i thought was 5 syllables, haiku. So, I tried. :)
Do check out Disease and how he wrote a very nice post to my challenge.
Dili! You're the best.
ReplyDeleteI love this (probably the least dark part):
Memories past,
remembering of you.
A bond with darkness.
You rocked this! Well done! xo
Difficult angle to take on this challenge but well executed. Love it!
ReplyDeletethis makes me want to know more. next week, write the story behind the poem?
ReplyDeleteoooh, this is eerily good! and the haiku idea is great. i've been obsessed with haikus myself lately, too!
ReplyDeletecan anything be more dark then this...loved it...
ReplyDeleteSorry about the late, late reply people. Exams, ugh.
ReplyDelete@ Mandy: :D i'm happy you liked it. Wasn't sure what would come of it myself.
@ RG: Thank you. :)
@ Marian: Well the next week's long gone, but maybe I might do that :)
@ Lazidaisical: Thank you. :D I love haikus. I love how they can pack so much in to so little and so simply.. the great ones I mean, not like this :)
@ rahul: Glad you did :)
